Testing demand for webinars on some of the key student support challenges facing universities

Whatever your role - whether you work in a university, a students' union or a student accommodation provider - we'd love to hear what you think about the idea of student support-themed webinars.

We have been thinking that, as colleagues across the sector who manage student-facing directorates and teams, you might appreciate the chance to get together occasionally for an hour online to hear about and offer your thoughts on a challenging topic.  Such topics might include, for example:

  • The boundaries of the role of personal tutor: Where does 'pastoral support' end and 'specialist support' begin?

  • Managing a university counselling team - challenges and opportunities

  • Managing a university’s response to the death of a student

  • Managing a communicable disease case (e.g. meningitis or TB)

  • Safeguarding policies and procedures in a university setting

Setting up webinars would involve a significant investment of time and resource, and therefore this is only something we want to do if we are sure there is demand.  We would therefore appreciate it if you would spend just a couple of minutes answering six quick questions at www.plinthhouse.com/webinars.

In return, if you wish to give your email address at the end of the survey, we will keep in touch with you about our plans for webinars and invite you to any initial pilot sessions that we run in 2019.

Please 'share' the link to this survey to help us get responses from as many colleagues as possible.  Many thanks.
